Which AI fits your business? Start with the work.
Choose around your people and process, then compare technology on the same real work.
What changed
The current collection shows several distinct choices: assistants that prepare work, coding agents that help build tools, and models that can be accessed or operated in different ways. Capability announcements do not make those options interchangeable. Anthropic’s evaluation guidance offers useful background on clear criteria and repeated trials; the scorecard here is SFG analysis.
Where businesses stumble
Selecting a familiar brand or an impressive demo first can leave teams searching for a problem afterward. A model ranking says little about the handoffs, knowledge and adoption needs of a particular business.
The CBA response
C: define one important outcome with the people doing the work. B: agree representative tasks, authoritative inputs and a baseline. A: compare suitable options using the same work and review criteria. Record quality, rework, end-to-end time, staff adoption, operating cost and data/deployment fit. No winner is assumed.
One practical takeaway
Create one shared scorecard before the next demonstration. Ask users to evaluate completed work and document why an option fits—or does not fit—the process.
Right-sized for across business sizes
Small firms can start with one owner and a few cases. Midsize firms should test departmental handoffs. Enterprises should add access, oversight and operating requirements. Complexity and budget should follow the work.
